An update on the Wildlife Waystation
Wildlife Waystation - Sylmar
The portable diagnostic imaging equipment funded by the Stanley W. Ekstrom Foundation has changed how we practice medicine." said Rebecca Walser, Director of Veterinary Medicine at Wildlife Waystation.
"We are among the first three facilities in the country to have this particular array of sophisticated equipment." The instrument is light-weight and portable, which allows us to bring our work to the animals. We no longer have to move large animals which substantially lowers the risks during any kind of procedure. And, most importantly the quality of the diagnostic is excellent in helping our vets to thoroughly assess the issues facing any of our over400 animals. "The device is an investment for the future of the Waystation," added Walser. "We can now facilitate diagnostics on animals we were not able to do in the past."
